AFU – Asians & Friends Untucked is committed to building an open, diverse, welcoming, and safe community where LGBTQ+ Asians, friends, partners, family members, and allies can connect through culture, entertainment, social activities, travel, volunteering, and everyday conversation.
By participating in AFU spaces, you agree to respect the following community standards.
1. Treat Others with Respect
Everyone deserves basic respect.
AFU does not tolerate:
- Personal attacks, insults, or humiliation
- Harassment, bullying, or persistent unwanted contact
- Discriminatory language
- Hate speech
- Deliberate provocation or intimidation
- Derogatory treatment based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, religion, body type, or other personal characteristics
Disagreement is welcome. Personal attacks are not.
2. Respect Privacy and Personal Boundaries
Do not share another person’s private information without permission, including:
- Full name, phone number, home address, or workplace
- Private conversations or screenshots
- Identification or account information
- Health or medical information
- Immigration or legal status
- Private photos or videos
- Sexual or relationship information
- Other information the person has not agreed to make public
Doxxing, targeted exposure of personal information, or attempts to identify someone against their wishes are prohibited.
Information shared inside an AFU group is not automatically permission to repost it elsewhere.
3. Consent Matters
Clear, voluntary, and ongoing consent matters both online and in person.
Do not:
- Make persistent unwanted sexual comments
- Continue pursuing someone after they have said no
- Touch someone without permission
- Pressure someone to participate in an activity
- Share intimate or sexual images without consent
Anyone may change their mind or withdraw consent at any time.
4. Adult and Sensitive Content
AFU’s public website and public-facing pages are generally SFW.
Some private AFU communities may allow adult discussions involving sexuality, bodies, relationships, kink, or related topics. Those spaces must:
- Be clearly identified
- Follow the specific rules of that group or platform
- Meet all applicable age requirements
- Respect consent and privacy
- Prohibit sexualized content involving minors
- Prohibit non-consensual intimate imagery
- Prohibit illegal content
Adult content allowed in one AFU space does not mean it is automatically allowed everywhere else.
5. Do Not Spread Scams, Dangerous Rumors, or Deliberate Misinformation
AFU supports open discussion, but open discussion does not mean knowingly spreading false information.
Please use extra care with claims involving:
- Health and medicine
- Legal or immigration matters
- Finance and investing
- Public safety
- Elections and government policy
- Breaking news
- AI-generated content
- Online scams and phishing links
If a claim is uncertain, say so.
AFU encourages members to check sources, provide context, and correct misinformation when discovered.
6. No Scams, Pyramid Schemes, or Abusive Commercial Activity
AFU does not allow members to exploit the community through:
- Fraud
- Pyramid schemes or deceptive multi-level marketing
- Fake investment opportunities
- Misleading fundraising
- Phishing
- Account theft
- Impersonation
- Deceptive sales practices
- Undisclosed commercial conflicts of interest
Legitimate marketplace activity, recommendations, or secondhand sales should follow the rules of the relevant AFU group.
7. Advertising and Promotion
AFU is a community, not an unrestricted advertising platform.
Without permission, members should not:
- Flood groups with advertisements
- Repeatedly promote products or services
- Send unsolicited sales messages to members
- Present themselves as an official AFU partner
- Use AFU’s name for commercial activity
For sponsorships, partnerships, promotions, or business collaborations, please contact the AFU team first.
8. Do Not Misrepresent Yourself as AFU
Without authorization, no individual or organization may:
- Claim to officially represent AFU
- Create an unauthorized “official AFU group”
- Fundraise or charge fees in AFU’s name
- Sign agreements on behalf of AFU
- Issue official statements on behalf of AFU
- Suggest that AFU endorses an event, organization, or product when it does not
Official AFU groups are those listed in the official directory on AFUCommunity.org.
9. Conduct at Events
When attending an event organized, co-hosted, or promoted by AFU, please:
- Respect the venue and its staff
- Follow age and admission requirements
- Respect others’ personal space
- Avoid disrupting the experience of other attendees
- Follow photography and privacy rules
- Take responsibility for your own alcohol consumption and behavior
- Follow local laws and venue policies
AFU may ask anyone whose behavior seriously disrupts an event to leave.
10. Photography and Media
Some AFU events may include photography or video.
If you do not wish to be photographed, please let an organizer or photographer know.
Do not photograph, record, or publicly share identifiable images of others in privacy-sensitive settings without permission.
Please see the AFU Photo & Media Policy for additional details.
11. Health, Legal, Immigration, and Financial Discussions
AFU communities may include discussions about health, legal issues, immigration, investing, and other specialized topics.
Personal experiences and opinions shared by members represent the individual speaker.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, information shared in AFU spaces should not be treated as professional medical, legal, immigration, tax, or financial advice.
For important decisions, consult a qualified professional.
12. Politics and Social Issues
AFU members may discuss politics, public policy, and social issues.
We encourage:
Facts + Sources + Respectful Discussion
We discourage:
Labels + Personal Attacks + Conspiracy Claims + Deliberate Provocation
Criticizing governments, political parties, politicians, or public policy does not itself violate these guidelines.
Harassing other members, intentionally spreading false information, or promoting hatred may.
13. Respect the Purpose of Each AFU Group
AFU includes different communities organized around geography, interests, and shared experiences.
These may include:
- Regional groups
- Film and performing arts groups
- Travel groups
- Fitness groups
- Pet groups
- Marriage and immigration groups
- Finance groups
- Astrology groups
- Marketplace groups
- Other special-interest communities
Please try to keep conversations reasonably relevant to the purpose of the group you are in.
Content allowed in one AFU group may not be appropriate in another.
14. No Forced Agreement or Political Loyalty
AFU is made up of people with different backgrounds, views, and life experiences.
Participation in AFU does not require members to:
- Agree with every other member
- Support a particular political party
- Attend every event
- Join every AFU group
- Publicly disclose their identity
- Take a public position on social or political issues
AFU exists to create space for connection, not ideological conformity.
15. Reporting Problems
Please contact AFU if you experience or witness:
- Harassment
- Threats
- Scams
- Privacy violations
- Impersonation of AFU
- Serious misinformation
- Inappropriate content
- Event safety concerns
- Other violations of these guidelines

Screenshots, dates, group names, and other relevant details can help us review reports more effectively.
16. Moderation and Enforcement
Depending on the seriousness of the situation, AFU moderators may take actions including:
Reminder → Formal Warning → Content Removal → Temporary Restriction → Removal from a Group → Loss of Event Access → Permanent Ban from Official AFU Communities
For serious violations such as fraud, threats, severe harassment, doxxing, or non-consensual intimate imagery, AFU may skip intermediate warnings and move directly to removal or banning.
Where there is a credible concern involving physical safety or possible illegal activity, AFU may also recommend contacting venue staff, platform operators, or appropriate authorities.
17. These Guidelines Will Evolve
AFU is a growing community.
As new WeChat groups, regional communities, events, forums, and other features are added, these guidelines may be updated.
Individual AFU groups and events may also adopt additional rules appropriate to their specific purpose.
Where additional rules differ from these general guidelines, the rule that better protects member safety, privacy, and community order should apply.
A final note
AFU exists to help people connect — not to make everyone the same. Be curious, be respectful, protect one another, and leave the community better than you found it.
