AFU — Asians & Friends Untucked is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, welcoming, and fact-based community. As AFU and its online and in-person activities continue to grow, we are issuing the following statement to help protect our community members, partners, and the integrity and reputation of AFU.
1. Please rely on official AFU channels for information about AFU.
Information concerning AFU’s organizational structure, events, community decisions, partnerships, policies, or other significant matters should be verified through AFUCommunity.org and AFU’s officially recognized accounts, groups, and announcements.
Without authorization from AFU, no individual or group may use the name AFU, Asians & Friends Untucked, or any name, branding, or identity likely to cause confusion, to issue purported “official” statements, represent AFU, organize activities on AFU’s behalf, solicit funds, or conduct commercial activities.
2. Personal opinions expressed by AFU community members do not necessarily represent AFU.
AFU is an open community made up of people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
Statements made by individual community members, event participants, volunteers, or even individuals who assist with certain community administrative responsibilities—when expressed through personal accounts, private conversations, private group chats, or other unofficial settings—do not represent AFU’s official position unless that individual has been specifically authorized to speak on behalf of AFU.
Likewise, a personal dispute involving someone who participates in AFU does not automatically constitute a dispute between that individual and AFU as an organization.
3. AFU does not accept rumors, selective excerpts, or unverified information being presented as established fact.
We respect criticism and welcome good-faith feedback regarding AFU’s activities, community policies, and administration.
However, criticism and fabrication are not the same thing.
When disagreements or controversies involve AFU, its community administration, or its activities, we encourage everyone involved to verify the complete context and communicate through appropriate channels.
When misleading information is created or distributed through fabricated claims, selective editing, impersonation, material omission of context, or other deceptive means, AFU reserves the right to publicly clarify the facts.
4. AFU does not participate in online harassment, nor will we respond to misinformation with more misinformation.
When disagreements arise, our principle is simple:
Facts are facts. Opinions are opinions. Evidence is evidence.
AFU does not encourage community members to engage in doxxing, harassment, threats, intimidation, or coordinated online attacks against any individual or organization. AFU will not mobilize its community against others because of personal disagreements.
At the same time, choosing not to participate in online hostility does not mean AFU will remain silent in response to persistent misinformation, impersonation, harassment, or conduct that materially harms the community or AFU’s reputation.
5. AFU reserves the right to protect its name, community, and reputation.
When demonstrably false information may materially affect AFU, its community members, partners, or activities, AFU may take appropriate steps depending on the circumstances.
These may include publicly clarifying the facts, preserving relevant records and evidence, requesting that unauthorized individuals stop using AFU’s name or identity, ending an individual’s participation in or relationship with AFU community spaces, and, when necessary, seeking appropriate professional or legal assistance.
These measures are not intended to suppress criticism or disagreement. Their purpose is to distinguish between legitimate expressions of opinion and false statements presented as fact.
6. Official AFU WeChat groups and community channels
Only WeChat groups, social media accounts, and other community channels explicitly identified through AFUCommunity.org or AFU’s other official channels are considered part of the official AFU community network.
The use of “AFU,” “Asians & Friends Untucked,” “亚友真彩社区,” or similar wording in the name of an unofficial group or account does not, by itself, indicate affiliation with, endorsement by, or authorization from AFU.

A healthy community does not require everyone to agree.
We can discuss. We can criticize. We can disagree.
But discussions should be grounded in facts. Criticism should not become misinformation, and personal conflicts should not be transformed into false narratives about an entire community.
AFU will continue building our community on the principles of transparency, respect, inclusion, and factual integrity.

AFU — Asians & Friends Untucked（亚友真彩社区）致力于建立一个尊重、包容、友善并以真实信息为基础的社区环境。随着 AFU 社区及相关线上、线下活动不断发展，为保护社区成员、合作伙伴及 AFU 本身的合法权益与声誉，我们就涉及 AFU 的信息传播、组织身份及个人言论作出以下说明：
一、关于 AFU 的信息，请以官方渠道为准。
任何涉及 AFU 的组织架构、活动安排、管理决定、合作关系、社区政策或其他重要事项，应以 AFUCommunity.org 及 AFU 明确认定的官方账号、官方群组和正式公告为准。
未经 AFU 授权，任何个人或群体不得以 AFU、Asians & Friends Untucked、亚友真彩社区或足以使公众产生混淆的名称、标识或身份，对外发布所谓“官方消息”、代表 AFU 表态、开展活动、募集资金或从事商业行为。
二、AFU 成员的个人言论不自然代表 AFU。
AFU 是由不同背景、经历和观点的社区成员共同参与的开放社区。成员、活动参与者、志愿者乃至承担部分社区管理工作的个人，在其私人账号、私人群聊或其他非官方场合发表的个人观点，除非明确获得 AFU 授权，均不代表 AFU 的官方立场。
同样，某人与 AFU 成员存在私人争议，并不意味着该争议属于 AFU 与该个人之间的组织争议。
三、AFU 不接受以传闻、截取片段或未经核实的信息作为事实传播。
我们尊重批评，也欢迎针对 AFU 管理、活动及社区政策提出善意意见。
但批评与捏造事实并不是同一件事。
对于涉及 AFU、社区管理人员或相关活动的争议，我们鼓励有关人士首先核实完整背景，并通过适当渠道沟通。对于通过断章取义、恶意剪辑、虚构事实、冒充他人身份或其他方式制造和传播误导性信息的行为，AFU 保留公开澄清事实的权利。
四、AFU 不参与网络围攻，也不会以造谣回应造谣。
面对争议，我们的原则是：事实归事实，观点归观点，证据归证据。
AFU 不鼓励成员对任何个人进行人肉搜索、骚扰、威胁或集体网络攻击，也不会因为私人恩怨发动社区成员针对任何个人或组织。
但是，不参与网络攻击并不意味着 AFU 会对持续性的恶意造谣、冒名、骚扰或损害社区声誉的行为保持沉默。
五、AFU 有权保护自己的名称、社区及声誉。
对于明显虚假且可能对 AFU、社区成员、合作伙伴或活动造成实际影响的信息，AFU可能根据具体情况采取包括但不限于：
公开澄清事实、保存相关记录和证据、要求停止使用 AFU 名称或身份、终止相关人员的社区参与或合作关系，以及在必要情况下寻求适当的专业或法律协助。
上述措施的目的不是压制批评，而是区分合理意见与事实性虚假陈述。
六、关于 AFU 官方微信群及社区渠道。
只有由 AFU 官方网站及 AFU 官方渠道明确列出的微信群、社交媒体账号和其他社区平台，才属于 AFU 官方社区体系。
任何未被 AFU 官方渠道列出的群聊，即使名称中含有“AFU”“亚友真彩社区”等字样，也不当然代表 AFU，亦不代表其获得 AFU 授权。
我们欢迎不同声音，但坚持事实。
一个健康的社区不需要所有人意见一致。
我们可以讨论，可以批评，可以不同意彼此；但讨论应建立在事实之上，批评不应演变为造谣，个人矛盾也不应被包装成关于整个社区的虚假叙事。
AFU 会继续以透明、尊重、包容和事实为基础建设我们的社区。
